I don't know the rules but maybe they wanted to keep their UK citizenship? Edit: okay I actually read a bit of what is going on. They have zero income so can't stay. In reality they did have an income but didn't declare it to

Does it have no taxes at all? Because without a deal with the UK residents would have to pay full tax in the UK plus any local tax if they have income from there. I'm not sure a lot of Americans is a bonus to attract Brits though.

There's no paywall? Maybe for the US? Nothing for me from Scandinavia. It is a big deal. One brand mentioned had 520 shops in China. I don't see how things are harder to sell. The article even mentions that covid cause a decline i

This is an awful clickbait article. Both the headline and most of the article itself reads as if Sweden did a good job. It didn't. It did a horrendous job! One should compare apples to apples and doing so shows that compared to other N

If you look at Denmark's way (GP's example) then it is nothing like the loans you mention. The government decides how the loans are put together and buyers can pick between them. None of them are like the ones from the crash.

The Nordic countries also deinstitutionalized but they are light-years ahead of most other countries in tackling this problem (though still far off the goal). The biggest problem is that you simply cannot get something like it through the p

Most western cities doesn't have these kind of areas as there simply aren't homeless people enough to live there. With a working social security net it wouldn't need to be accounted for in the planning at all.

We are in a cold war because, like back in the day with the USSR and the old cold war, China doesn't want to turn into an Asian copy of the US. I'm no fan of PRC but I wish more countries would do the same. Traveling a lot today a
