I agree with your post. It was just a sort of hypothetical because "entrenched gender bias" was mentioned by my comment's parent.

Yes, but the moment you plug in an Android dongle, Apple TV or similar, you can just disconnect the TV from the internet, which should solve this.

Because we'll never achieve a 50/50 split, we must learn to live with each other and adapt. Plus there are also other minorities we need to take into account, not just women. It's just a fact that there's far more men in

The problem is that you're suggestion division, discrimination and segregation of the community based on assumptions and your own world view, to perhaps solve a problem that doesn't even exist? Do most women feel the same way you

"The low number of female applicants in tech" is something completely different to the current topic. The current topic is about having a separate HN with the majority of the community just being women.

That's because Apple's concept of privacy is, unfortunately, just not letting third-parties touch your information. They themselves are above all of this, and their users (for the most part) trust them with their info.

Gotify is a self-hosted push notification service. It aims to replace FCM and APNS, while Pushover just sends notifications through those. There's only support for Android on Gotify because iOS doesn't support alternative push ser

I'm a fan of Directory Opus. It's -far- more feature filled than Explorer, yet it's much faster at opening (assuming the service is turned on at startup).

Over here in Portugal, many small merchants don't accept card because of this, or at least have a notice mentioning "5€ minimum to pay by card".

3D Touch was a big UX problem, there was never a way to show the user that you could do it and where you could. Apple has a problem with discoverability in quite a lot of features. There's many small little things in iOS that users don

Seems to be opt-in in Bitwarden and 1Password's case, and all seem to be focused on a group aspect (family/teams/enterprise). It must be someone else in that group to recover your account, the company themselves can't re

There are plenty of other stores with reasonable reach, such as Samsung, Huawei and Amazon's stores. Of course not nearly as much, but discoverability in the Play Store is already a mess.

Apple's treatment of developers has been poor for ages now. And they know developers will adapt because they just won't (can't) leave the platform. Tim Cook's words in the Epic trial only made this perception clearer. Re

There's still a lot of entropy involved in forcing a new update, such as laptops possibly not supporting the new minimum macOS for Xcode, various frameworks which may have been deprecated, etc. And when it comes to games? The game engi
