My team and I have built many dozen services using Go and Fiber (fiber.io) and have been insanely pleased with the experience and the performance of the code. We have quickly onboarded new devs and got them productive very quickly thanks to

Fantastic thread. Love the simple explanation of the 6-page memo process and the Amazon writing rules.

I hate the UX of Twitter threads. There’s far too much non-content (navigation, buttons etc) interrupting the flow of the content for what really should be a long-form post on a blog or HN or what have you. (edit: typo)

Same experience for several internal systems. Fiber is amazing.

Love that you do this. I have a few enterprise projects that do exactly the same thing (minus the embed in one, just scp and untar). Can’t beat the simplicity. Regarding the original question we use fiber.io for a few systems and have loved

Hope this gets hacked very quickly. Such an anti-customer business model: buy a luxury car and get screwed monthly for features that are in the car already (fix cost already expended). BMW The Ultimate Greed Machine.

I just wonder when companies just stopped caring at all about doing the right thing? Are there any objectively honest big companies out there? - Enron. We all know what happened there. - Facebook. Industrial-scale slimy. - Exxon. Poor Alask

Agree. Relational capital is durable and could even be a form of pretty strong moat. What industry / type SaaS do you run?

I'll take the counterpoint; I loved it. The article was by no means a HOWTO but rather an inspiration to what can be done by solo devs or very small teams without institutional money. There is far worse so-called click bait our there.

Golang, Fiber.io framework, Go Templates, and some AlpineJS. Why: No JS build toolchain hell, tight control over dependencies (you know because software supply chain), blazing speed, really nice live editing of go templates without server r

I just don’t understand the fascination with Lisp. Having a graduate degree in CS I get the elegance and design aspects of Lisp, but no thank you. Not fun in any way to use.

Video was well done for sure. Great editing, killer use of music, good scene selection and incremental reveal of message. However PSYOPS doesn’t to the cool guy stuff shown like CQB.

Don’t do it. You are worth more than money my friend. So what you lost money — yes it sucks (been there) but don’t let that wreck you. You are valuable. You earned the money you lost to begin with, you can do it again. Find peace through Go

I’m so miss the ipod nano. Just bought a new ipod last week because sometimes I just want music and books. Audible book sync with iWatch is total shit and rarely works. When I run i don’t want to carry a phone. I feel this is a bad move by

Golang Templates also offer the ability to do this. I have an entire enterprise site built this way with separate header, footer, toolbar, search box, etc. And it’s silly fast too. We use AlpineJS for client side interactive bits. (edit: ty

So much Go hate and arguments over language design details. Meh. Back to producing fast, well-organized, maintainable, bullet proof code in Go for real-world problems.

You mean like a son taking insane money from China and Russia while you hold public office? You mean a wide open border, on purpose, while drugs and human trafficking run rampant? Are those “basic & elementary expectations of the job”?
