A couple months ago I was contacted by Amazon recruiters, they are/were hiring heavily for a new 'logistics' operation. The recruiter would not say a whole lot except that they were working on a delivery network. So it seems

I wonder which will come first: A MS like product that is general purpose or GoPro and others start integrating gyroscopes into their products to take advantage of this similar technology. The MS presentation really resonated with me since

I still 'make the effort' to use google maps even though it would be easier to just use apple maps since like the article states, it's automatic and easy. I do give apple maps a try, even recently, however _every_ time I use

Why does this story keep getting killed on HN? Anyways, this is a huge clusterf k and a stupid comment and an offhand tweet has cost two people their jobs and stirred up a hornet nest nest of vitriol.

What a monster cockup that all turned out to be. Instead of some minor embarrassment for saying something silly two people are now out of work.

I really have zero desire to touch my laptop screen. Maybe it's years of conditioning to not smudge my screen or it could be that lifting my hands off the keyboard to pinch and swipe at my screen would be more irritating then using a mouse.

Maybe it's because I ride a bus but not a train. I've never seen a 'raised eyebrow' when someone pulls out an iPad or other larger-than-phone device to read or otherwise pass the time with.

I've been waiting to buy an iMac for my house/kids but I held off until I saw a teardown and how hard it would be upgrade the RAM / HD. Glad I did, having to unglue the screen just to get to these components is a non-starter for me.

Most days I will wear a t-shirt that I have been given either though a conference or other means. I wear them mostly because I like them and want to be identified as a developer (by other developers or people who 'know'). So, I like these s

Several (many?) banks do this. I've used citibank's 'virtual account numbers' in the past when dealing with merchants I did not trust.

Going to college (as an adult) was by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. I already had a career and thought I knew it all but the experience of working on theory and mixing in with some seriously smart people really pushed me t

You have badlands national park located near Minneapolis MN. I don't know if this was meant to be a joke or not but you're off by several hundred miles.

I've experienced exactly the same thing that was described in this article. All the way though to installing more ram and disabling the dynamic pager (this is a late 2011 mbp). Like the author I was shocked at how accustomed I was to waitin

Wow, this is awesome. We have two large dogs that we always have trouble finding affordable boarding for when we can't take them with us. A quick search on this site turned up several options that look superior to the boarding we have been
