"I don't think the experience of a 5 inch phone is better than a 4 inch phone. But it is a bigger number and thus easy to market." It's all good that your personal preference is for smaller sized phones. But it's re

This phone has been a brilliant move. Having handled the phone, I can say I truely wouldn't miss anything at all if I were to rely on it (already owned a Nexus 4 though). It's not as future proof because it lacks NFC and 4G, but g

Perhaps they know the PowerPC's algorithm for performing out of order execution? It might have been available for a long time, or have been shared to the public after IBM started opening up the Power architecture since 2004.

This is not true. The great complexity of modern GPUs is a much larger problem generally than emulating a CPU. Furthermore, the previous x86-equipped console, the original Xbox, never saw any decent progress in emulation whereas its far mor

Evernote appears to me as a thoughts organizer - its focus is heavy on managing notes, and its note editing features are pretty sparse. For my use case, Evernote seems horribly over engineered, as it is my note taking that is complex, but t

A lack of time doesn't cause problems with multiple languages that only use the trivial ".m" extension. Bad design does. Luckily I use languages popular enough to be classified correctly.

Nobody's arguing that GitHub shouldn't prioritize popular languages. I don't think that the responses to this pull request show 'prioritization' however, they show incompetence and close-mindedness instead.

You are absolutely right. Still, I think Google is taking the wrong approach: the insecure /sdcard partition is the place where most of the storage is in nearly all Android phones. If your app needs to store larger amounts of data, tha

I sincerely hope Google will upgrade the Dalvik compiler to accept Java 8's syntax. My wishful thinking is that they did not find compelling reasons to upgrade the spec to Java 7 since it did not represent a major upgrade when it comes

A platform wins because of bandwagon effect. This is why Windows won on the desktop, Facebook won and now Android has won. Releasing an open system at the right time (as Google did) can cause major bandwagon effect, but is a contributing fa

This is not true. The most powerful tools often require a lot 'teaching' and have a steep learning curve even for basic usage. See vim or Blender as examples. I would argue that Windows 8, even in its RT form, is far more powerful

Safari and Internet Explorer only support H.264. Chrome, Android browser and Firefox support H.264 (FF on Linux & Windows IIRC). H.264 doesn't just get to iOS devices. It's the only way to make sure your web video shows on ~98

Unlike most of the replies made to your question, I don't think the big problem for Microsoft was emulating PowerPC on an x86 platform to make emulation happen. The real problem with emulating both the PS3 and Xbox 360 is that they wer
