Stuff like this. It feels like there's less of a case here than with Microsoft. In the 90s, Windows nearly became _the_ OS, especially had Apple folded like it nearly did. There really wasn't an alternative in the emerging home co

Uh. So they can keep track of what the user is doing? Why would you just send a document when you can generate a heat map of where the user is on your website. And then complain about the performance and wonder why it costs so much to run a

What would really help the working class is building out actual forms of transportation beyond private automobiles. That way we're not subject to a single point of failure in our ability to move around. Maybe warm up to the idea of ebi

The problem is government surveillance is useful. If your car gets stolen for example a plate reader camera can help find it. I think people know that and weight it against the trade off of decreased privacy and exploitation by corrupt gove

That's true. But generally you can still connect devices to the carrier network minus the ability to make voice calls.

I mean Haiku is the best OS in my opinion. But nobody really uses it because it lacks the software support. Sometimes you got to put up with the BS to get what you want done.

Why do people want tabs anyway? It's kind of clunky compared to just having smaller individual file explorer windows. Like you can't _really_ drag and drop files between tabs without the added time overhead of waiting for the tab

My favorite thing is when I open VS2008 or something. And it blinks into existence faster than the splash screen window can render fully. I don't understand how the editor has regressed to the point that 15 year old software performs b

No? Most modern apps these days _are_ just web apps. Why does it need the overhead architecture of running full standalone applications when a web clip works just as well? Plus there's no need for updating. The problem at the time was
