The truth is, you don't have any idea what they're doing because they don't tell anybody. Well, the US government did grant immunity to the big TelComs for their participation in the "Domestic" surveillance program a few years ago... Tha

From a single source... Perhaps other parties will receive a less censored document? Perhaps the same party will receive such on a subsequent request?

The best way to beat the censors is for multiple parties to request the same data at different times. Oftentimes the resulting FOIA documents will be redacted in differing ways, allowing the various parties to "compare notes" and hopefully

He didn't purchase the offending seeds from Monsanto, so he should not have to pay Monsanto, the people who sold him the contaminated seeds are at fault.

Monsanto is sitting on a 'terminator' capability that allows them to make second-generations seeds sterile. They don't use it, obviously, but wouldn't it be better for consumers if they did? It would be disastrous if the "terminator" gene

Yes, all soybeans are prior art by virtue of countless generations of selective cultivation by unincorporated humans which has resulted in the soybean which Monsanto has modified in their quest for profit and market domination.

Absolutely disgusting!!! The very notion of "copyright" being applied to life forms is the antithesis of freedom. A clear case of government, of the corporation, by the corporation, for the corporation. The People be damned! Soybeans are li

You can easily drop your existing BASH aliases, etc, into .zshrc and not even notice that you've switched to zsh. As for "Oh My Zsh," I've never seen any reason to use it, as zsh works fine without any add-ons.

Mobile phones are rife with security concerns, and this article is merely another in a long list. This is why I choose to purchase pre-paid (burner) type devices, which have the added bonus of not locking me into any restrictive "contracts.

There's a simple fix for this, and other, GNOME related issues... Get rid of GNOME! I can do as much, and be as productive, without using a specific DE, by setting up my GUI to use a simple tiling Window Manager (DWM) along with dmenu. Se

Ditto re: dumbass If only I had listened to my mother... But, noooo! I was almost 30, and my advanced age meant that I (thought that I) knew it all... Here I am, almost 50, and I still don't know nearly as much as I thought I did.

Some say, "Use it or lose it," but I think it's more like riding a bike, you never really forget how, but you might need some practice with the new bike before you get up-to-speed.

I resemble that remark... I'm also old. I was writing RDBMS in dBase, compiled with Clipper, on MS-DOS, in the early 1990's, when I was about 30 years of age. (I was the "old guy" 20 years ago) Wow! The decades just keep passing by with inc

My story is similar to yours, even the year 1994. I was totally engrossed in writing custom batch files using ANSI.SYS escape sequences to create text "graphics."

One of the first things I do on a server is disable root logins, disable password authentication, install sudo, add my_user to sudoers, and copy my public key to the server, as well as only allow connections from my IP address.

I take issue with the definition of "15 days free internet." I happen to own one of T-Mobile's "4G" mobile hotspots, and I pay $50 for a whopping 5 GB of data. The "Data Pass" I purchase from Team Mo' Bull is good for 2 months... As if any
