One factor that a lot of people in this discussion are missing is that buildings are primarily built to resist vertical forces, because gravity is by far the largest force any building (or bridge) ever experiences. Having a large force stri

LOL, that figure is clearly off. That's double the population of the entire state! Per another comment it's much closer to correct for the annual number of vehicle crossings.

All pilots are "harbor pilots". Crew members who control the ship outside of port are just called crew members (captain, first mate, 2nd Officer, that kind of thing), never pilot.

Real estate is a pretty good analogy for this, actually. You own domains on gTLDs in the same way that you can own property, but you have to pay your annual property taxes (domain registration fees) else you can lose it. But owning a doma

It's not true of gTLDs though. You actually own those domains, and they can't be taken away from you (barring extreme circumstances) so long as you pay the registration fees every year. But domains on ccTLDs can be taken away fro

Yeah, that's a lot more work and required tools than just taking something out of a shop. A lot easier to get busted too if you're walking around with those tools.

It's much harder to steal out of a vending machine than it is to grab something off a shelf in a store and walk out.

The only kind of vending machine low maintenance enough that I think it can count as passive is digital vending machines that only take electronic payment, e.g. a Bitcoin ATM. There's no physical goods to restock so once it's in

Employment contracts don't really matter in the US. They can fire you for just about any reason they want at any time, regardless of whether or not it's mentioned in your so-called employment contract.

You shouldn't be yelling at your boss's boss's boss in a large company forum. That's rank insubordination, and easily punishable with firing. Hell it could be punished with much worse than insubordination in other kinds
