Right, well in the US, where Amazon has the plurality of its global workforce (and quite possibly majority of its highly compensated work force), severance is not required.

Human minds being corruptible, applied to management and shareholders, does a good job of explaining why unions are necessary in the first place.

Even if it is constructive dismissal, so what? Amazon won't owe you severance or anything like that. So you'd get some money from your state's unemployment office and that's about it.

I think most people who say they "need" AWD really just want AWD. Similarly for all the people who say they "need" trucks.

Yeah I think it looks great too. I don't own a car, but back when I did, I had a Ford Fiesta that I loved. It wasn't unnecessarily large and could fit into smaller on-street parking spots that others simply couldn't. This EV

One simple answer to this is they could disable all new purchases without disabling the entire account. If you can no longer spend money there's nothing to charge back.

It's not more leverage after the additional money loaned is plowed back into the home's equity by way of the renovations, however. The bank simply needs some way to enforce that the additional money loaned is actually being used

Oh c'mon, there's no way this is it. If they hadn't been laid off there wouldn't be an external announcement. You don't post something like this merely to announce that you're retraining some employees.

The US government already sells billions of dollars worth of various types of bonds to consumers every year. How is what you're proposing any different, and how would you entice more people to buy them than are currently buying T-bill

Depressing home purchases might well be a good idea. Right now people treat them as investments rather than mere housing, and as a result that market is thrown entirely out of whack.

It all 100% depends. I live in lower Manhattan and it's hard to justify buying in almost all situations. It only pays off much further down the line, but it might not ever pay off at all if you consider the opportunity cost for your

Bank accounts are very sticky and most people don't move them in search of better rates. In particular, people are not thinking of cash sitting in a checking account as anything other than short term cash they don't expect to ear

I don't particularly live near any of my relatives though (the closest ones I could rely on are four hours away). Many people are in my situation of having moved for a better job, which necessarily leaves those other people behind.
