Jira has always been very quick and responsive for me. It offers a good amount of customization too, we have a custom workflow that makes sense for how we develop software. I've never felt that jira has been a limiting factor of what t

This is another reason why I don't like the "social logins". You give them so much data. They strongly encourage you to use the social login instead of using the regular email sign up.

Doesn't surprise me, younger millenials won't have a home to sell and will thus have a hard time affording a home in an inflated market. Compounded with the fact that median wages haven't increased that much the last 30 years

I've gotten suggestions to people who have only been on an email chain whom I've never directly emailed with before. In my opinion that goes too far.

Apple hasn't proven to be untrustworthy with data, they have a much different business model than the others. I've never heard of Netflix doing anything that bad with data either.

Can't believe how many subsidies they got, to me it's a question of fairness, why should we subsidize them, but not others? I get that they are doing the community a service by creating high paying jobs, but there certainly have b

I think technically all states are "at will", some just have a few more protections than others do.

Curious what the legality of this sort of thing would be, can you really fire someone for political preference?

I agree, I'll also note that it seems with all of the modern communication tools that satellite offices in secondary and tertiary markets wouldn't be as big of a deal now as it would have been 20 years ago.

In what ways would a VP or above be able to fight back that a manager or director could not?

Adblock plus is a client side plugin, the issue was that the blacklist was maintained by someone who wanted to block more than ads. Perhaps there needs to be reviewers from multiple sources for when changes are made to these sort of lists.

I believe they have revenue through ads. Don't know if they're profitable or not, my guess would be no.

One thing I was surprised about DDG was that most of their code is written in Perl. Curious how well this will actually scale.

I'd be OK with these places charging a little bit more and letting people talk to a consultant that could help interpret the results.

It's not just the ad industry, publishers need some form of revenue in order to do what they do.

I agree mostly with this, I would say it's difficult for someone of any profession to try and predict how a technology would be used.

I agree, this is a very good point being raised. Code reviews should be geared towards the success of the team, not people's egos.

A reason to like it is that in a system with DI and IoC you spend less time trying to build up objects and pass them to where they need to go, since it's simple to just inject them into the class you want using an annotation. Spring ta

I don't know why Comcast would do this, it doesn't seem like it would be in their best interest to block an email service. Yes I know they have their own email service, but they also don't block other competitors, like hulu.
