I use these occasionally (after ear plugs started causing problems for my ears). They do a pretty good job in my experience at helping me focus even though they do not perfectly cut out some sounds, everything is muffled enough that it'

To be honest I like this type of thing and I would have impulse-bought this on the spot if it weren't for the fact that it's a pre-order, and now I just looked on amazon for a competing product and got it shipped to me prime. I un

I have a hard time getting past this aspect of reality TV. I recently watched a few episodes of "The Profit" which is basically "Kitchen Nightmares" but for businesses, but it just really bothers me how staged it all see

I've always found some sort of sound blocking helps me focus, even in relatively quiet environments. I used earplugs almost 24/7 until it started I started having some issues with my ears and realized that's not really a good

Pretty cool but I wish either that they had integrated with coinbase instead of bitpay, or that bitpay would hurry up and approve or deny my 3 week old application.

Every time datomic is brought up, people always chime in with this whining about it being closed source and I just find it sounds entitled and petty. It makes it seem like with enough people agreeing with you and enough upvotes or whatever,

This looks really cool and I can't believe it got ZERO responses! Going to read all the docs tomorrow and hopefully try to make it fit in the project I'm working on now.

Ahhhhh this makes me sad because I've had something very close to this idea months ago and have been slowly picking away at it. Great job though.

That video seems to be the exact opposite of a single convincing slide. I watched it and have no idea what SoundCloud is supposed to do. In the context of social media platforms, I would think that sound, for the most part, would be music.

Kind of a funny example: During my last few semesters at college I operated a textbook buyback service and experimented with facebook advertising. The one ad I put up that got me a ton of likes and positive feedback was just a small picture

Just my opinion, and you're right that it pretty much doesn't matter, but I don't like "Trello" because we already have "trulia" and "twilio". They just are too similar to me.

I agree. Nobody want's to invest time into learning something called "Perl 5" when there's something already out there called "Perl 6". Yes, some research into it will reveal that they are now on two separate dev paths, but there is still s

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen something that felt more intentional. No way they handle company secrets by giving a 2 second request to put away cameras before showing off the thing.

I hate to be negative, especially given how coveted CR-48s are/were, but after about a week of getting mine I just had to put Ubuntu on it. Yeah, I spend 70% of my time in the browser, but I just can't give up that other 30% (dev stuff). It

DDG has a laughably small market share. This doesn't necessarily make them a non-threat, but it's going to take more than this to change users' search behavior (ie convert them from Google to DDG) on even a minute level. I mean Google has t
