Thing is, who decides how many tasks someone can do in a day? What if they get paid for 8 but only work for one, but the manager doesn't know they do, and they never communicate their workload is too low?

What makes you think it's "blatant AI slop"? I mean I agree with reading the source over something that went through a journalistic filter but you didn't even link it.

I think age verification laws are good in principle - there's a lot of stuff on the internet that people should be protected from. But it's the manner of age verification that is the issue. The EU has zero knowledge proof age veri

I suspect it's because you need to keep more things in your head yourself; after a while of coding by hand, it becomes more labor and doesn't cost as much brain power anymore. But when offloading the majority of that coding to an

As an alternative to LLMs, you can just download ready made themes off the internet, or there's a bajillion site creators with premade themes.

I'm afraid the only options are to stop, give pushback, or embrace it yourself and use AI to review - just add the caveat that "since you decided to not put in the effort, neither will I". Just make sure the author is on-call

No criticism or anything, but it really does feel / sound like you (and others who embraced LLMs and agentic coding) aspire to be more of a product manager than a coder. Thing is, a "real" PM comes with a lot more requirement

I tried to fight against the introduction of GTM in a project I worked on; we spent a lot of effort on coding, reviewing, testing, optimizing and minimizing client-side code before our end-users would see it, and the analytics people want a

Armchair opinion, but shouldn't be too bad - it's identification, not authentication, just like your e-mail address is. But probably best to not advertise it too much.

That still has "squatting" risks as described in the original article though, domains expire and / or can be taken over.

That's assuming community input / democracy, but especially online there's a good argument to be made for authoritarianism.

IMO, if it's too much effort to improve one's comments, then it's too much effort to write them in the first place.

Yeah same, just like reading out a wiki page or other resource (for too long) instead of reading it to yourself and summarizing it for other people.

Notable exception being Stack Overflow-style answers, but I think those are more formal documentation and knowledge sharing / wiki pages than human comments. Human and more informal comments can be added as comments to answers.

Do commenters even know whether their post was flagged as anything? I mean my comments may have been flagged or I may even have been shadowbanned but I never look at old comments to check.

I think the up/downvote system is good enough for that - good posts go up, bad posts go down, really bad posts that nobody should see and whose poster should get banned get flagged.

I'm not sure, I think you overestimate the average developer. But then, the average code doesn't end up in public repositories, it spends decades in enterprise codebases rotting. At this point I'd rather review LLM generated

That doesn't refute the comment - "you are wrong" is personal and aimed at the person, "that is not correct" is impersonal and directed at the contents. This is the complexity of language and communication, but in t

Code formatting is a bit different though, at least if you're working in a team - it's not your code, it's shared, which changes some parameters. One factor is "churn", that is, a code change that includes pure st
