What about Google Drive? Do they index the contents for advertising purposes?

Interesting. I have never tried Inferno. Are you running it bare metal? What do you use it for?

I know more than a few people who retired at 62 because their bodies gave out, not just because they could afford to.

Interesting. Out of curiosity, how much history do you save? And do you sync it between machines (assuming you have more than one)?

I have to agree with this comment. It looks really out of place now.

Just upgraded; the UI is fucking ugly.

Am I the only one who doesn't like their command history to be saved? I don't like the idea of that being recorded, even if it would save me time in some occasions.

I like the idea of ChromeOS but I don't understand why anyone would want to own a computer that you can't even create a user account on without the manufacturer's permission. I am also unsure, from a privacy prospective, if i

It's not coming up for me - I get the "all of our servers are busy right now" message. I am not using any kind of blocker.

They did offer a server version for a while. Not pro, I suppose, but definitely not consumer either.

IIRC, only iCloud Keychain is encrypted in such a way that Apple's can't access it.

The iCloud backup would be the analogy to a safe deposit box - as it is housed by Apple itself.

Seeing how search results are being censored in “free countries” due to things like the DMCA and The Right To Be Forgotten, maybe we shouldn’t look to private companies to fix this issue.

Yep. That is pretty damning in my opinion.

This strikes me as an illegal regulation.

I find this to be awful and I don't even use Slackware.

Speaking as some one who likes Netbsd but doesn’t care for Freebsd, I have no desire to see any kind of a merge.

Yay! I love the smell of fresh Netbsd in the morning. Seriously though, awesome news.

It is incredible, and sad, how much bloat is in the common webpage these days.

I think one of the biggest issues in Corporate America is that the pay of upper management is totally divorced from the pay of the common worker. Furthermore, upper manager is often incentivized to fuck over workers because of their preferr

Sites bemoan ad blockers but then take no responsibility for the ads that are shown. That needs to change - it’s not like print advertising.

I am not interested in "smart" speakers or televisions. Like my refrigerator and toaster, I prefer these devices to be "dumb".

This is what I am struggling with right now. Many people recommend org-mode but I don't like Emacs very much.

I used to work at Blockbuster and this doesn't strike me as correct.

I've actually told my partner that we will have no such devices in our home. Luckily we are in agreement because this is a hard line for me.

I have a lot of respect for Stallman but I have to agree with you on this. It is very annoying and I think it creates barriers to the message he is trying to send.

What kind of a dick would do this to Gentoo, who makes everything available to everyone? I don't understand the world sometimes.
