Would you punish your unconditionally loved child by dropping them into a volcano for eating at red lobster? There's spankings, and then there's the whole mass murder/eternal damnation combo thing.

Yeah, and also Jesus saying that all the laws and codes from the old testament are still valid. Better put all the girls on the rag outside your home once a month, or god'll get real angry. You won't like him when he's angry!

Yeah, this is about when you run into that whole "how can you have free will if god is supposed to be omnipotent" problem that's been dogging various religions for centuries...

True. Still, I found independent reading from library books to be much more informative than the liberal arts electives I was forced to take (and pay for) as GEC reqs on the exact same subjects. Penalized for pursuing education, no. Penaliz

There are schizophrenia genes in my family. I can't wait until I'm past the typical time of onset, because thinking of losing my mind like your friend did is one of my deepest and most terrible fears.

Ha! I'm the same way. It's so damn slow compared to how much I can put down in the same time if I were on my mechanical keyboard instead. I always hated high school in class essays because all I could think was that I'd be able to write 3x

I don't really have a lot of guidance to offer you, OP, but I sympathize with your situation and hope that someone else is able to help you in the way that you need. Best of luck.

Don't most people see psychologists, though? Psychiatrists cost much more, so most people see the less rigorously schooled psychologists instead due to insurance policies. That's been my impression of it, anyway. You really don't have to be

That's good. I remember reading an article a while back about the working conditions in amazon warehouses and it sounded really unpleasant. I don't think it was this article exactly, but this one is pretty similar: http://www.mcall.com/new
