Alternatively, they speak a different language with different terminology and are translating. I know a few climbing terms in French and they're quite different. What would be helpful is commenting on whether their assertion is correct

Those people will say that anyway. The point is to limit exposure. Ronaldo has a lot of fans that otherwise wouldn't be losing their shirt crypto trading. No opinion on whether the lawsuit has merit.

Is this really a good argument for casual sexism for the sake of shock value? If we're going down that road, there are plenty of racial and homophobic slurs that are culturally acceptable (and encouraged!) in other cultures.

You're right, I over-edited my post and skipped the final proofread. It needs an "impedes" somewhere in there. Ice cream was an arbitrary choice, I could well have said French fries, or something unrelated to dietary choices.

I agree. But I think you've flipped the original question, which presupposes "trust." Your formulation is "does code review eliminate the need for trust?" Which is clearly a no, for the reasons you've outlined.
