I disagree in part with (b). A hard fork could split the community and cause the price of ether to crash further. While miners who fork may not actually lose ether in the process, they may actively cause it to lose whatever value it has lef

I agree that 15% may not be that extreme, but 15% is not all that's at stake. 100% of all ether existing has so far lost 20% of its value (relative to other currencies at the time of the article's writing). I wouldn't be surp

The idea here isn't making better collision simulations. We do that well enough already. I think the big deal here is teaching an AI how to predict the outcomes of collisions by training it with a physics engine.

It's very possible the supposed hacker is a Clinton supporter and/or Trump opposer and when deciding which documents to publish they naturally tended toward documents which make Clinton look good and/or make Trump look bad.

I would say that not many actual implementations of software turn out to be beautiful, assuming it is above a certain threshold of complexity and it is meant for production use. On the other hand, the ideas, algorithms, or the protocols on

I agree, I think students should be learning how to set up version control very early on in 101 level classes. If for nothing else, it will preserve their work and ensure nothing is lost. I wish I had all of my work from University in git.

I would say the same thing for asm.js. If you had enough time/patience you could still determine how some given logic worked in some sample asm.js code.

It would be nice if there was a way to check the system audio volume via the web audio API. Then you could display a notice only if the volume is too low or too high. Alas, no such functionality currently exists without browser plugins.
