I'm not sure on this, will it make any sense - customers who DON'T WANT to be aware of what is required for HA (say lonely devs) choosing such a hosting types. Even if you put educational articles, I'm unsure it will be used.

WSL keeps moving and adoption increases - compared Stack Overflow reports for 2022 and 2023, WSL is mentioned in Operating Systems and taking 15.68% this year. For professional usage by developers, stats are: in 2022 - 14.34% and in 2023 -

That specific case and if you can afford PgBouncer, I agree with you. On a wider scale, Haproxy adds value - auto tracking on sync/async replicas, replica lag windows, falling back on master if all replicas lagging/down, so on.

Simple LB like Haproxy works fine for this and similar cases. In very nutshell, Haproxy executes checks every n seconds (in your case it can be readonly mode checks ) and disables that upstream. We use it over Mysql/Pg+patroni/Red

Can you share bit of details on what's wrong with Ubuntu and how CBL plays better for you? My context is baremetal servers and LXD based virtual environments.
