Was interested in this also but hardly any comments. Maybe we're the only paranoid ones? Aside, I hate oncoming Teslas at night, feels like high beams permanently on. Effect seems more with Tesla. Flashing high beams at them does no go

Unchecked capitalism may create a couple of wonder drugs costing millions, for a few people, and enrich the 0.1%. On the average it will kill more people, make more people bankrupt and kill the economy.

A ban would be a terrible idea. Some appropriate regulation and breaking up of monopolies might improve the situation. It's heartening to see the EU initiatives.

Doctorow's writings are good, and this book summary is excellent. One of his recommendations is unlikely to go far: tech worker unions. Most comments on HN underscore the extent to which techies have bought into capitalist propaganda,

I have employer provided health insurance. I'm an immigrant from India and routinely postpone non urgent care to my annual trips there. One does need pointers to good clinics. I get great care at low cost. With none of the bureaucracy
