I hope this will not age like milk since Putin is currently still building up troops near Ukraine. I think Putin hoped that NATO countries are fractured, but we managed to unite at the first sign of danger. He is making NATO stronger than e

Earth is about to become hell for the disenfranchised, especially poor people, if it not already is, but this won't stop the lucky few living it up at the expense of others. Of course the few don't see it as luck, they see it as t

Keeping it simple, stupid. I'm writing a database for example and go out of my way to use conceptually simpler algorithms, even if they are slower. I use optional patches to refactor them. Ideally simplicity leads to adaptibility, simp

There is only so much these companies can do, it would be a competitive disadvantage to take these pledges seriously. It would involve a lot of costly research and development. Carbon offsetting is not effective, but it solves the problem o

You have to call fsync after you write the temporary file to avoid data corruption unless btrfs is mounted with the flushoncommit option. Without it btrfs flushes, but without waiting for completion. https://git.kernel.org/p

The gallery demo app is janky on old Android devices with bad GPU drivers, and janky on iOS because of Metal, but those issues are being solved. The main issue with iOS and Metal is the shader compilation jank, for which the workaround is s

Flutter is built on top of Skia, and Dart AOT produces compact, fast native code. Dart only has a small runtime, it's memory usage is measured in megabytes. Chromium need gigabytes of memory and a powerful mobile or desktop processor.

Not to get on your nerve, but GetX is basically a toy API, and the codebases that use it tend to evolve in the heap of spaghetti direction, but if your app is simple enough you can get away with it and save time, so who am I to knock it.

Dart is like Java, Kotlin or Swift with the runtime model of JavaScript, there is nothing weird about it. It takes an hour to learn it if you know either of these.

GetX is a very high-level API for Flutter, it works for simple things, but as you go on you will realize how restricting it is. It abstracts away details not meant to be abstracted away. It's just bad design, and it's anti-pattern
