>It penalizes responsible behavior No it doesn't. That is a ridiculous thing to say. The people who received the cancellation have been paying on their loans for either 10, 20, or 25 years (depending on the degree type).

Twitch left Korea because of their crazy fees that would be prohibited under net neutrality. ISPs double dip and charge websites/companies like twitch, Youtube, etc to deliver data and also charge their users money at the same time.

In the US the obvious on is mobile providers throttling video streaming and other high bandwidth services. Globally there are other negative examples. IIRC twitch pulled out of Korea recently because they didn't want to pay ISPs to del

Having gigabit fiber for $80 a month has nothing to do with net neutrality. Not sure why you would think having fiber means net neutrality isn't needed or desirable. You seem a little confused about what net neutrality means!

That is frustrating. Although nothing is stopping Comcast from offering plans lower than the FCC definition of broadband. IIRC they did this for years where they had a $10-15 plan for certain areas/people that was 15mbit download and I

The goal shouldn't be to have just enough internet. 25mbit/3 is incredibly slow for 2024. A single 4K stream saturates a 25mbit connection. 3mbit upload is super low too since a 1080p zoom call is around 3mbit/s upload. When

Strange logic IMO. Internet service providers already receive money from the government through grants, loans, and other programs. Opposing increasing the pretty low requirements on ISPs who already receive this money just doesn't make

This is a wild thing to comment. Nothing is stopping internet providers from selling internet below broadband standard and many do. Changing the exact meaning of broadband allows the government to raise the standard of service people receiv

DOCSIS has been able to push 100Mbit/s over coax for nearly 2 decades. Hanging fiber isn't really a complex process anymore anyways. We already run power to basically everywhere people live so hanging some fiber as you go isn'

Typically 'hardened' builds disable loading kernel modules shortly after boot. Compromising root at some point after this point doesn't guarantee the ability to load additional kernel modules.
