Maybe .. but I can't imagine anyone sitting there designing a menu to actually say to themselves, "you know what would look awesome repeated on every line and column of this menu? 32 QR codes!"

But at that point it becomes a UX issue. There's only so much space on a printed menu. Calories are an easy to print, single data point.

OMG, something similar to this has happened to me twice over the last few years! I came down with a real bad case of, I don't know, something; but I had a bad fever and was just in a dazed state of half-sleep. The last time I just remember

Just because others have come before doesn't negate the fact that someone else may have reached a broader audience through the use of marketing and branding.

On the side ... I work full time as a mobile application developer. Of course, I had to stop all other side-projects. I usually (against my better judgement) work on at least 2 other things on the side at any given moment, but this book too

Actually, I temporarily forgot (it was in the book :P ) ... you can actually target .NET 4 and still use C# 5 if you use the Async Targeting Pack for Visual Studio 2012 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2957...

Thanks so much! Great news on the book, we definitely need to start seeing more books out there on Mono/Xamarin tech. Hopefully we can help people understand what a great opportunity C# can be when you embrace it :)

Sure, this will be my 3rd published title ( http://amazon.com/author/joelmartinez ), though first as the sole author. From first contact with the publisher to today was about six months, actual writing time was approximately 3-4 months, and

Language-wise, C# 5 comes with .NET 4.5, which is supported on Windows 7, but not XP. You can probably use Mono 3.0 on XP to write C# 5 though.

No, the book doesn't really focus on individual libraries (EF, MVC, etc.) as much as it just tries to focus on the language itself. I wanted to drive home the point that if you use C#, you can target all the major platforms :)

Something that needs a bit of clarification, what do they mean by "offered to remove all subscription options", and "the offer was rebuffed"? Do they mean that they created a new build with the subscription options removed, resubmitted, and

Yep, it's for unlimited/unrestricted play ... so in this case it's a trial. But a community has in fact grown around this game, and in the future they could enhance it for additional IAP funds, sort of like the dagobah IAP in angry birds st

Nah man, when my kids make a mistake (or almost make a mistake), I go out of my way to tell them how they could have avoided it; 9 times out of 10 I end the discussion with, "And now you know ..." before I realize what I'm saying :P
