That's the thing. And the "open web" doesn't help at all. At least in mobile/PC there is an option to move between App Store, Play Store, Windows Store and Steam.

For me, as a software developer, it's about detailed design rather than implementation. 1837-s design is much more impressive than 1941-s implementation (100+ years later - you'd better build something with all that time).

F# is not meant for implementing the complete app anyway. Just use it for business logic where it makes sense.

Exactly the kind of attitude that hinders the F# growth. I mean F# is a pretty useful numeric DSL, but let's not blow things out of proportions. Modern languages have R#-like refactoring tools.

He got Rule #2 slightly wrong, should be: "Strong static typing with optional dynamic typing". Makes much more sense, but I am going to forgive him.
