People are insane to begin with to install some rootkit on their system just to play a game.

Nah, didn't imply that. Just that ragel would be suitable to generate the parser for this kind of data.

Ragel (or more like finite state machines) excel at parsing streams with all sorts of nuances while still being rigid and bailing on invalid input. Considering the ken_all.csv isn't really standard csv anymore, it's better to writ

There's this video where a person replaces parts with genuine apple parts from another iPhone. And guess what? The device cripples itself thinking it's not genuine iPhone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY7DtKMBxB

Theres youtube link on that page. https://youtu.be/6RfJoH1N6IQ you can compare yourself. Note that the game uses vulkan, thus it can render without any translation.

The "everything is a file" in UNIX is bit of a lie. And plan 9 went on fixing that. UNIX has many files that aren't actually files but special devices that you access with non-standard interface (mainly ioctl). In plan 9 ever

As a Finn that site does not convey typical finnish person at all. Finns don't brag, finns certainly aren't "happy". Then again Helsinki doesn't feel like Finland at all either.

Doesn't sound very feasible, as this would make user experience probably much worse. No native elements, no browser integration or extensions, interaction with the page, and accessibility. They all would suffer.

Public interface with C makes sense. C++ doesn't have portable ABI plus it makes porting harder.

Would it be possible to capture video by using headless browser and rendering the video element & audio to file? Of course, this will induce some quality loss if encoded to lossy format again. But would effectively be "legal"

I'm not sure I agree with the complexity. You can go read CMake's and Meson's source code and probably agree with me it's not very trivial. Sure they can provide you a "cross-platform" build with ease, but it d

ABI issues are fundamental problem with C++, not really mingw's fault. If you have to use binary library in C++, then you have to use the same compiler it was compiled with and with the same compiler settings.

MSYS2 actually has one based on pacman and PKGBUILDs. I remember unofficial vita SDK going similar route as well. Probably there's tons of similar solutions but not marketed well enough.
