Steam is overwhelmingly popular with users and publishers alike and so it's enjoying default status with both, but that's the fairest play in capitalism. There's little lock-in (non-transferable licenses and network effects a

I'd say much older than that. PCs were being subsidized by adware and bundling starting in the 90s at least, for example.

I'd tack a few more features onto it, like multiple desktops, and give it a small face-lift to make it just a wee less ugly. But yeah.

I'm not necessarily talking about whether the market is _large_ but rather whether users on that platform and its users will participate in raising its profile to a tipping point. More than one platform is likely to contribute to this.

I think Apple's angle on this either should be or already is synergies. Because of AI and their nascent push into AR/VR, it appears to me at least that promoting gaming is one worthwhile prong in the campaign. To keep investment i

Humor, irreverence, formality, political correctness, or whatever quality doesn't seem to be the issue so much as it is authenticity of any kind. But advertising never was authentic. The goal is to drive sales using whatever tools the

I'm reluctant to consider shoddy or noncompliant implementations as counting against a technology. If I did, then it'd follow that there's no such thing as a good idea, and I could only agree with that if I were having a bad

I absolutely believe this. If you think your service shall perform no due diligence that it is correct, accurate, and safe, then you have no business providing it to the user, who has little or no knowledge of the domain, which you are sell

Took me a while to figure out what you were talking about. So, the article mentions an older product by the same people that used your "periscope" arrangement, but THIS product is a m4/3 sensor hanging off the end of a ribbon

Maybe! Seems a little unlikely that Apple could fly something like that under the radar, not for very long, but mistakes happen. Do bodies like the FCC independently verify compliance?

It's not Apple's job to determine if there's a problem with that and regulations on this issue are, so far as I'm aware, treated very seriously.

That doesn't read as correct in this case, as a bulky and heavy "bead" on the cable makes the product less functional for the purposes of most customers. The author has different priorities but they're idiosyncratic.
