Curious how they plan to enforce this. Will they be auditing their own organizations? Are theg requiring govt organizations to go through some kind of review before they're allowed to deploy new software? Are they relying on whistleblo

Has Firefox announced any intentions to not support WASM? From what I can tell there is a bug with the current implementation, but I have a hard time believing that had anything to do with Google's decision. If that's what they wa

I worked from home before covid. The only thing that really changed for me was that they increased the VPN bandwidth and started consistently adding video calls to all meetings. The technology and practices already existed.

Couldn't they just reset their TPM to change their "identity"? Or use a different computer or VM? Also, I'd be pretty frustrated if I was sharing a PC with someone and they got me banned from a game.

Sounds like RealPage makes it easy for landlords to identify market prices so they can charge as much as the market will bear. That's arguably scummy, but I don't see any evidence that RealPage is somehow affecting the market pric

It says something for how explosively popular social media is that an article like this can just refer to it as "the internet" and nobody questions it in a tech forum.

According to the Steam hardware survey, about 58% of the current-gen GPUs being used (NVIDIA 4000s and AMD 7000s) have 12GB+ of vRAM. I'd argue it's already mainstream - at least among "PC gamers". Obviously there is sti

To be fair, a decade ago gaming PCs came with 2GB to 4GB of vRAM. Today's gaming PCs come with 12GB to 20GB of vRAM. Most games don't demand a lot of system memory, so it makes sense that PC gamers would invest in other components

I use Teams for work and to my knowledge it does not have persistant voice/video chats. You have to deliberately start a call and invite people. That's not the same and doesn't lend itself near as well to facilitating online

Gotta be pretty low odds that an OnStar module breaks while someone is in a remote location, leaving them stranded - then they make it back, diagnose the issue, take the manufacturer to court, the court finds the manufacturer guilty, and th

Do you have any idea how much it would cost for the government to distribute portable AM radios to everyone? This law is way less expensive and it's good enough for most use cases.
