At first I read this as 'Emacs would be better than Vim' but that's not what you're saying at all Yes, the awesomeness would be through the roof, having Vim AND Emacs on a tablet (but only with a full size keyboard with a Caps-Lock that cou

Absolutely; I would go even farther and call it absurd. I want to see open-internet bills in Congress. I want to know how to implement such a bill so that it can coexist with something like the Patriot Act.

How can such a bill be worded to divert criticism that the bill might interfere with the government's ability to fight "terrorism"?

I've been using both RAK and ack for the past two days, and for some reason RAK misses things that ack catches. Probably a Cygwin issue.

Is it possible that they were seeding bait content in a torrent swarm to collect IP addresses to sue? Or is it more likely that their employees were just torrenting at work?

Wow I just learned about Ack as a result of your comment. This is a scale of magnitude better than grep -R [pattern] [directory] for searching through large codebases Thanks!

To what extent can utilities like DTrace make proprietary software free? I know this is kind of a broad question, but can we detect hidden functionality in proprietary software without fully reverse-engineering it?

Wow! this is so awesome! Thanks you! For the past two months I've been daydreaming about embedding a spreadsheet inside a single cell. It can be represented easily with XML, but it's a PITA to work with XML manually. This is such an great i

Moreover, bittorrent connections are almost never as simple as Alice sending a file to Bob. The network topology is far more intricate, with Bob and Alice sending and receiving chunks simultaneously from dozens of seeders/leechers.
