> Proprietary software can be kept secret, and only shared as a binary That doesn't stop piracy at all so I think copyright is what prevents proliferation of piracy not secrecy.

Lumo seems the most reputable. There's confer.to, duck.ai, and nanogpt.

Actually other Roms do not do a good job at privacy from corporations compared to GrapheneOS. See "Degoogling" section: https://eylenburg.github.io/android_comparison.htm

Yes their policies are great. They misinterpreted my comment and accused me which annoyed me. The comment I replied to in this current thread was talking about their communication on HN so I provided an example where I was caught in the cro

Every week GrapheneOS seems to come out with a good take. Monero, Authoritarianism, AI, now copyright. Very well aligned with my beliefs not to mention it's one of if not the most private OS.

Addons are a huge security risk I think it's worth it for most people to just implement their own with AI but maybe that's not possible for something like sponsorblock or ryd (maybe you could make a client yourself).

That's great but it's certainly not more secure than GrapheneOS against remote, local, or surveillance capitalism adversaries.. That duress pin idea is not good at all and would be bad for the users of GrapheneOS.

I don't get why people are annoyed by this one so much. I notice it very occasionally. AI slop blog posts are as bad as ever but the stuff the agents say in the chats don't annoy me much.

Monero works like cash and there's nothing complicated to get the privacy. With QR codes it's not bad but sync time and 20 minute confirmation is a convenience proble.

With Monero it doesn't matter for future transaction privacy if it's KYCed just like it doesn't matter for cash. Financial institutions know you have purchased Monero like if you withdrew cash from an ATM, but then it goes of

This is a pro-consumer action. Good for Australia. Identity verification is anti-consumer. Instagram in Australia offers either ID or video selfie to prove you are over 16.

I use Vanadium on mobile and Brave on desktop–I think those are the best options. Brave is also a valid choice on Mobile because of the better adblocking. https://grapheneos.org/usage#web-browsing

An Apple TV would be the best for privacy you can easily use but not perfect. Don't use streaming services. Torrenting with a VPN would share the least data but Nuvio/Stremio wouldn't share much with adtech. Can't use th
