While I'm not taking a side, what I believe OP was referring to were 'Prevailing Wage Laws' that prevent the city from using contractors that are paid below the set union wage. If the cites are unable to reduce one of the two

In addition write a letter; handwritten to your reps imploring them to fund this stuff when it comes time for budget votes. Calls get noticed, but letters get the most attention in Washington.

It honestly depends what your goal is. You can fund research or treatment, both dollars get spent in entirely different ways. You can work with research hospitals like dana farber, the James or programs like St. Judes et al. One of the bes

I've spoken to a few people who work for dod/dia et al as it relates to DHS/TSA. They say they employ 3 types of people: 1) those that need a job and don't care 2) those that like having authority over others but couldn&

I think OP is referring to places that have tax % lower than the US. Say Country A had a rate of 10%, you get the deduction of the 10% but you still owe 25% more due to the US 35% tax rate when you repatriate the $.

The plans I remember reading about (5 or so years ago) were about building large scale raceway ponds out in AZ, NM and that area as you had the ideal sun, cheap land, and it could be dried naturally further reducing energy consumption. I&#x

It has been a while but I thought that algae grown in raceway farms was the most efficient way to remove carbon? Love to read more on the bamboo side of it if you have links.

Interesting question to pose for people here: In 2015 38,300 people were killed on U.S. roads, and 4.4 million were seriously injured - if automation saves those lives, but puts others out of work, is that not what we want? Shouldn't w
