I’ve been using Fly.io’s default Go template lately since it has binary embeds by default and doesn’t incur any build system. I can’t explain how liberating it is to use vanilla JavaScript and CSS without any additional build process to dev

You’re missing the entire point. That’s still a build process and still has additional overhead for both development and deployment.

Why did you roll your eyes at it if it provided exactly the correct type of referential value it’s supposed to?

These LS swaps are getting out of hand! Seriously tho, cool idea. I’m also shocked that leaded gas is still the norm. These LS engines (I’m guessing by the shape of the headers and the hint that it’s an aluminum block) are insanely reliable

That’s fine and all and I agree about CEOs reacting and needing to be ahead of the curve but when they do fail they still get the golden parachute and I still get the “we’ll write you a good letter of recommendation”.

The most mind blowing thing to me is how it’s responsive to feedback like this. It’s like pair programming with a junior. It might be faster for me to just type it myself, but it’s doing what I tell it and filling in a fair amount of blanks

This definitely feels like a response to the situation unfolding in the Philippines to me, but I am just your casual armchair political power enjoyer.

Oh my god i didn’t think I’d be taking this nostalgia pill today but I’m so glad I did. This show was absolutely foundational to my high school experience haha. StarCraft, CnC, and CS were pretty much my entire life in 2008-2010. What a bla

The paper community is certainly not dead, not at my game shop. However if they’re not careful they’re going to print themselves into a corner and then they’ll be just like Yu Gi Oh.

Funny, I did almost the exact same thing for a MTG app I’ve been working on, and similarly also started messing with the idea of using the same software to soft launch my own rtcg. I would be very interested to see how you did yours.

I'm going to focus on my engineering chops, finish a couple side projects, and put as much as I can in my 401k. And hopefully get my project car running.

Consider a tool where its user performs actions with such speed and intent that they occur at a layer of thought that OP had to slow down and think about what they were actually doing to explain to an outside observer. How is that not peak

This is a good point. Do you think it is because of how much Egyptian agriculture relied on regular flooding of the Nile to replenish the soil?

That isn’t what is in contention, though. The mapping of some objective metric to that speed and productivity is what I’m arguing doesn’t make sense.

Yes. Just as important as the habit of writing Zettel notes is reviewing and condensing Zettel notes into “literature” notes. That’s the part I have to consciously focus on but I have found opening a rich text editor separate from my typica

I’ve experienced this first hand. When all your colleagues only deep work and you’re tasked with some necessary grunt work, your productivity will plummet when you’re trying to move fast.
