180 seconds is a fairly terrible specific impulse... Hydrazine monopropellant has something like 220 seconds, and the new safer monopropellants are comparable (less specific impulse but denser for less tank mass).

The fibers aren't that big an issue. If you want better heat tolerant fibers you can use basalt fiber. The problem is the matrix, which softens under heat unless you use exotic things like ceramic matrix composites which are brittle.

Many projectors don't use RGB striped subpixel grids anyway. They use color wheels or multiple chips to achieve full coverage, and in that case you want grayscale antialiasing. And on top of usually not using RGB stripes, they also o

I find the old Model Ms to be heavier than newer Unicomp ones, which I really enjoy. But I really can't stand most Cherry keys; blues are the most tolerable of the lot but they sound so 'tinky' because of the little click jac

I've met the guy at keyboard meetups and tried his prototypes. They feel exactly like a real Model F (or at least as exactly as you can get to inconsistent-due-to-incredible age keyboards). You can keep ordering until you can't; i

On the Wikipedia page for a gridded ion thruster, it says that no power is consumed by the grids if nothing impacts the grids. But I suspect that that's a situation like the way in which you can compress a gas in a cylinder without rai

That's the temperature outside the meat. The meat itself is kept cool by evaporation. Pressure cooking lets the internal temperature rise faster by suppressing the boiling on the surface.

I ride a kick scooter to work (cheap Razor A5). I do wish I had an electric scooter, but my commute is so incredibly short as is (half a mile) that it's an unnecessary luxury for an already brief journey.

Until 2007 Canon was far ahead of the curve, and they held on to parity until around 2010-2011. Shoot any camera from 2005 other than a Canon and the images will definitely have compromised image quality except in the best conditions, yet

Fuel is added from the sides, there's no gantry/service tower to be in the way. The gantry would only be there while loading the crew, which would take place with an inert rocket.

Canon came up with that first with the 5D back in 2005, and it came to the semipro lineup with the 40D, and the full pro with the 1Dx. Currently, everything from the 80D and up has this. Nikon only has had it on their midrange models starti
