I have a TKL and a 46-key ergo keyboard. On my TKL I miss having lots of thumb keys for layers; I have backspace on a layer. On my Mitosis Anaphase, I occasionally miss having dedicated punctuation from my big board.

I was under the impression that the question was regarding FFSC versus non-FF staged combustion. You say the main benefit is just increased pressure?

Apparently the N-1 never actually fired all 30 engines simultaneously before launch, so there was no way to detect plumbing issues. Additionally, their control scheme was designed to shut down the engine opposite to any failed engine, meani

Interpropellant seals require an entirely separate inert fluid to be continually injected into the seal. That's a lot of added complexity.

Interestingly the expander bleed cycle mentioned at the end is going to be used in the Blue Origin BE-3U, a change from the combustion tap-off of the older BE-3.

I'm not sure where you're getting that. If it's incompletely burned in the preburner, it gets completely burned in the combustion chamber. And even if that were true that combustion happening in the preburner was wasted, then

There's no wasted propellant with normal staged combustion. But full flow staged combustion lets you fully vaporize both propellants before they mix, leading to more optimal burning.

A full-flow staged combustion engine has more efficiency due to both propellants being fully vaporized before they mix, rather than a liquid-liquid mixture (as in a gas generator engine) or a liquid-gas mixture (as in a normal staged combus

The 2nd gen Prius (probably 1st gen too) has a distinct pre-travel during which it only regenerates, and only past a certain point does it apply mechanical brakes. When the battery is full (after descending a long hill) the pre-travel does

I believe that on at least some electric cars there's a particular deceleration threshold above which it'll turn on the brake lights.

QML is just as fast. If you don't make any changes to the C++ side of things then there's no recompiling needed.

A perfect example of the Blub Paradox wherein the author cannot realize the power of a tool superior to what they're used to, and dismisses it as useless because "I don't need those features". http://wiki.c2.c

Posterization is the technical term for this sort of banding. Banding can refer to all sorts of things that form bands, like fixed pattern noise from a camera sensor.

I don't think so. 10-bit improves compression because posterization leads to noisy patterns that must be encoded. By smoothing the posterization out, encoding a gradient, and having the decoder produce the noise, you can save bitrate.
