My issue with the moon, in particular, is that: a) it's not hard, it just requires a long focal length. b) it's not a creative act. The moon drowns out anything else, so it ends up being just a picture of an orb surrounded by blac

I'm talking about speedsubs as something distinct from rips of professional simulcasts; I don't consider those fansubs at all. Real fansub groups used to compete to be the first to release their translations, so you wouldn't

The current pro translators have learned from the fansubbers and often use the same tools; some even are former fansubbers. Thus they've largely kicked fanmade speedsubs out of the "market". The fansub quantity, for sure, has

This applies even more to the moon, in my opinion. Looking at the moon, that's one thing. But taking a picture of the moon? Go to NASA or Wikipedia for a great high-res picture.

They'd make 6.2.0 a public FOSS release and not release 6.2.1, they'll make 6.3.0 a public FOSS release.

5.15 is also LTS but it's treated the same as 5.14 for open-source. Likewise, 6.2 will be LTS but it's the support that is gated, not the release. Or is this not the case?

That's not in their favor, though. The point of moving open-source off of LTS is to move open source onto the bleeding edge to provide testing, not to just withhold 6.2 entirely. > Starting with Qt 5.15, long term support (LTS) will

My personal theory about why this isn't fixed is that in open-source software, if you halfass a UI implementation one time it keeps that halfass implementation more or less eternally because it's "good enough" for the pe

The lack of availability in the future and on other platforms (such as non-Android Linux phones) is my only worry. But it shouldn't be that hard to clone, if something should happen to it.

It took me only three or so days to get used to it. The lack of autocorrect was so refreshing that I just kept typing for practice. The downside now is that, unlike the QWERTY to Dvorak switch, I've become exceedingly clumsy at typing

I use MessagEase, which has a wacky layout that makes typos much less frequent, and thus doesn't need autocorrect. Not open-source, unfortunately.

What a waste on such a small format camera. The IMAX film format is larger than even 6x7. At least use a GFX-100 (which itself isn't even 645).

Depends on how you define "user". A developer is the "user"? MIT is freer for the dev, but the dev is free to restrict the end-user. End-users are the users? GPL restricts developers from closing the source, empowering e
