Genuine question from a gay person in a conservative country: What sort of healing would traditional values do? Is it the nuclear family sort of thing? I'm not familiar with those theories.

I like writing comments like I am writing for Copilot (even though I'm not using Copilot). It forces me to write better and clearer comments.

I just run a DO droplet with a reserved IP at $4.50 per month. Just enable the SSH gateway and you can reverse-tunnel into it. Cheaper than localhost.run's $3.50 a month if you have multiple domains. I've had issues with localhost

I'm thinking Lemmy is a good option for this. Compatible with Mastodon too.

That’s what I found too[0]. Made me realise that algorithms aren’t to blame for echo chambers and outrage; it is us humans that are at fault with this. Examples of echo chamber behaviour on Mastodon: all differing replies are labelled as “r

Social media algorithms might not be the only thing keeping people within a bubble. For example, Fediverse instances or Reddit communities (infamously known for the “hivemind”). People might simply be tribal in nature, however this doesn’t

From my time in the Fediverse, it seems that people have come to expect privacy from two things: 1) Privacy by obscurity. The platform was too small for people to care, so content was sort of private, until it was put into the spotlight. 2)

I can see the “defederate from indexing” movement too, although this may get pushback from creators that rely on social media to make a living or to self promote. (Checking for “web search tool”, #Google and #Fediblock from mastodon.social,
