Most people are here to learn, to build something more advanced, and/or to build something prettier. No need to condescendingly pretend like everyone else should be judged by your needs and nostalgia in a chat room.

For me, I've overlooked it because by the name I assumed it was meant to be a "worse mongoDB". I've found out recently it's more like Postgre.

I think if you keep the web server and UI parts in nodejs + react and the ML parts in python, you'll be high flying. This might also be worth reading: https://www.quora.com/Why-doesnt-anyone-recommend-JavaScript...

I couldn't find any concept of "saving", whether that be a local file or a paste-bucket or a "connect your github account". Just the idea that I could have more than one named script would make this great. If that c

Same here, I've watched multiple devs come into my first job with agendas of extreme over-engineering and unnecessary rewrites. I think the company is actually pretty lucky that they haven't gone under from all the damage.

It doesn't sound like OP is working on something that needs NumPy, and if he did, I don't see why he couldn't write a small script in Python to be called by the existing codebase.

Also, the performance benefits from free CDNs that you have no service level agreements are unsubstantiated at best, but you'll notice very quickly how much your site is broken when your CDN is over capacity.

Those languages won't be faster, they're pretty much the same speed. The labor cost of the rewrite would completely dwarf any possible micro-gains from switching between 2 languages that are already nearly the same speed.

First off, most of those languages/frameworks aren't even modern, let alone "more modern" than PHP. Next most of them are not significantly faster than PHP, if they're not definitely slower than PHP. If you're

No it's not simply better PR. That's completely absurd. One of them is a website I optionally go-to occasionally, the other is unremovable shitware on _my personal computer_.

If you asked me, PHP has had "serverless" for 20 years (just plop your "serverless" script on any cpanel host, maybe even more than one and put a load balancer in front of them). For serverless NodeJS, zeit now might be

VueJS is smaller, the API is different (so get your opinions ready). React has react native and a year head start on ecosystem maturity.

It's not the same. VueJS's documentation to add to an existing non-es6 jQuery based project is ahead of react's, and vuejs is a lot smaller.
