You also need to block write access, so they can’t encrypt all your files with an embedded public key. And read access so they can’t use a timing side channel to read a sensitive file and pass that info to another process with internet priv

That’s an interesting idea, but I wonder, how would it know who you want to hear? Like if I’m sitting at a long table for a big family meal, I’d want to hear everyone, but if I’m sitting on a bus I’d like to only hear the person I know, sit

On a related note, env vars do not have to be of the form key=value, they are arbitrary NUL-terminated byte strings just like the args.

I use my iCloud passkeys from Firefox Developer Edition without relying on an extension, so it’s implemented there at least. Dunno about “stable” Firefox.

It’s control+r on macOS too, one of the nicest things about macOS is that command and control are separate so they don’t interfere. So for example control+c in Terminal.app sends SIGINT, and command+c copies and there’s no ambiguity.

Since apfs, “large” empty files can also take only the 4K or so for the fs entry on disk, gotta make sure it’s not a sparse file, and doing so is a bit tricky, better to fill it with junk that doesn’t compress well.
