Lack of condition codes when the dominant paradigm (x86, ARM) is condition codes is weird. However, having 32 registers unlike x86_64's 16 makes up for some of it. The base is too base and their bitfield extension is weird.

The title really should say RISC-V rather than RISC. MIPS already is a RISC, one of the first.

AMD pays substantial royalties to Intel for x86. https://jolt.law.harvard.edu/digest/intel-and-the-x86-archit... However, this will become moot as even Intel is shifting towards LLVM. https://www.intel.com&#

This thinking you're Google is the opposite of technical debt , avoiding doing something and then paying a recurring price for the expediency. This is paying a price up front by doing something which is then never used.

Apple released their iCloud Passwords extension [1] for Chrome last November. I actually moved away from Chrome to Safari when I migrated over to my new m1. It's actually pretty good. The one caveat is Google's Advanced Protecti

Even 64-bit systems today don’t address 64-bits of physical memory. The Arm A78 (a very random example) uses 40 bits of physical address space. The 128 bits would really be for arithmetic and bus widths.
