That's interesting. I've come to view execs and "leadership teams" as having a parasitic function on an otherwise vibrant host. It will be interesting to see if AI takes out the top instead of the bottom. My money is sti

Your parent is confused. There's a difference between absorbing losses to stay alive while you try to get a product to market and deliberately losing money per sale because you want to drive the competitor out of business. No squinting

That sounds really neat. I spent a couple weeks trying to publish all my notes using org-mode, and it was pretty frustrating to find all these key bindings on the net that didn't actually work in my setup. A bare setup where you could

Some googling tells me that isomorphic SPA means the same page can be rendered server side or client side. Is that what it means to you? It's my first time encountering the term. If so ... people were doing that in react??

That's interesting. I remember having to defend my using ruby to other programmers around that time. I always loved it, and all the hate seemed to be centered around "it's too slow". No one ever brought up twitter being

There's really no good stats on SF car jackings, unfortunately. The SFPD crime data is too coarse to discriminate carjackings from other car theft. I think the best you could do, unfortunately, is comb news stories and try to get a sen

Is this actually true? I remember seeing SFPD post stuff on twitter like, "13th time this perp has been brought in, still no charges". They were getting the same guy over and over. It could have been a one-off, but I suppose they

On the other hand, a good time to debate about how to make our cities safer is now. Today. Bob Lee's tragic death can be a catalyst. The loss must be immeasurable to his family. Wow. That doesn't mean we should throw our hands up

It's a good ask. I have perused the SFPD crime stats and left dissatisfied. If someone can compel this to provide a longer timeframe, I think it would be helpful: https://www.sanfranciscopolice.org/stay-safe/crime-

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the "this is fine" comments here, but I am. Geological changes happen in geological time (outside of massive disruptive events). This change happened in 100 years. Also, comparing this to c

Thanks for stating this so clearly. I am always confused why data flow frameworks, DSLs, or other syntactic sugar inevitably gets entangled with functional programming. Once more logic is in stateless functions and easy to test and compose
