Yet you can remain conscious in deprivation chamber. I feel that this approach is too high level to technical details how brain may really work.

Electron is something humans created to describe reality in a way that's comprehensible to us and at the same time we can observe via experiments that it is an accurate descriptions in a way that we can measure. Asking whether electron

If it jumps across the universe uniformly then with each jump it can pull its surroundings as if there would be many electrons. Kind of like a single cpu core can run many programs "in parallel".

"Fancy type systems" What about TypeScript? I've literally implemented snake game using types alone, it's quite powerful.

I'm a complete layman, but it sounds awfully like that one problem I've once encountered on the Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explainable_artificial_intel...

It frustrates me every time when people talk about consciousness. The word has several meanings, but very often people just use it without specifying which consciousness do do they talk about and then proceed to conflate all the types of th

TS' type system is insane in what it's capable of expressing. I've personally wrote a snake game using types alone (you see a board, snake and snacks inside your editor type popups). Despite that, TS is still quite cumbersome

Genuine question, what's bad about FP in your opinion? Do you disagree with using any of its parts or the general approach where people try to force a completely pure FP? Is using .map operator already too much? Where do you draw the l

Incredible, it's like having perfectly typed language without having to use types at all. Few worries from my side: - TypeScript gained traction partially because you could migrate an existing codebase to it. Does leporello support gra

As a web developer, I'm curious - what kind of projects are you talking about and what kind of solutions did you witness being implemented as a result of the creator having knowledge in this area?

The question is also whether it's meaningful to polish our deeply mathematical models to scales so extreme that we may have troubles in reaching them. Keep in mind that this is just some model of reality, not necessarily how reality tr

This is such a valid point. I've experienced it myself. When you're on a team, after some time team members start developing shared biases. It's enough that some previous discussion was railroaded certain way to make it harde

Most tests shouldn't be hard to read and reason about so it shouldn't be a problem. In case of more complex tests, you can do it like you would do it during iterative development - debug tests and code to figure out what's wr

Objects are always treated as a reference, primitives as a value. To say they're immutable requires a bit more of a context - immutable in what sense? You can reassign a different value to a variable that stores a primitive, so it'

I see no problem if more paradigms would be pushed into mainstream. Not so long ago, functional paradigm had its comeback and it improved quality of the code in i.e. JavaScript world. The thing is to not be a purist, and mix paradigms in th
