Regarding "SQL is not typed": as a matter of fact you can always type-check your queries against a transaction. If it fails, there's your syntax and type error right there. If it doesn't fail, then it either reads, or al

You have to break down a problem to GPT just like you would to a human, and if it misunderstands you or asks you, you'd have to elaborate just the same. It's modeled after us, after all. The rubber duck is a stand-in for a human.

I've spent 20 years explaining my code to a rubber duck and getting great use out of that duck. No one will ever convince me that it's less useful now when the duck actually has read the Internet and has useful suggestions and ide

Just ignore this fella, GPT-4 is massively useful. But it takes intelligence to get intelligence out of it.

I very much doubt the tweet in question is of someone who loved GPT-4 yesterday, and has "fallen out of love" with it starting today. For someone so dismissive of "neurotypicals" you did the neurotypical thing and drop a

Good but I can never finish them. Especially when they deliberately keep beating around the bush for 20 tweets, as if someone is paying them by the number of tweets I've glanced. It's insufferable.

We're discussing performance. Dynamic types do not mean no type errors while you write code. It means the types can be variant at runtime.

Except this is bs because modern jit outperforms C and C++ compiled code in some cases. Dynamic types mean the constraints are known later. It doesn’t mean they’re never known. And when they’re known you can partially reduce.

Indeed, the baseline should be what Musk & his investors paid in reality. Which is about... $50 billion so far (and growing), including money he poured into Twitter (by selling extra TSLA) to keep it afloat. And they keep piling on debt

Automation doesn't mean "on their own". For example when a video is transcribed to text by AI, that's automation. Doesn't mean you can't have a human editor fix the mistakes. When AI does legal discovery for an

"Broader perspective" is probably not the right word. It's distinctly two extremely narrow perspectives. Broader perspectives requires lower temperature, and moderation, but I don't mean the kind that mass shadowbans acc

You can't offer something and then say "retroactively delete it unless you pay a new insane price". I'm so glad Musk is not a politician with any say in important matters. But as the owner of large social media, he'

You can get it for free. $42/k is intentionally ridiculous I presume. First, it's yet another infantile reference to 4/20, and second it's out of range for all researchers.

Do you think they're delusional enough to think everyone would start paying huge amounts of money instead and keep the API? But then again no wonder someone who paid 44 billion for Twitter might think tweets are worth a lot of money.
