I don’t build software, not for many years. And I have monetized individual patents. Folks, we are just having fun here. Making fun of me. But not for making HN comments that aren’t as well written as you think they should be. For having cr

And of course if your input form gives the user any help when they are filling it out, then you can run in to a problem where users choose ABBA more often than Aerosmith or Argent, (more often than they would have), based just on how ABBA i

My algorithm was pretty similar to yours I’m guessing. (See my other long post here.) I described mine to a friend one time and he called it “toothpick AI”.

I created one of the systems that competed with Ringo / Firefly. It was a great experience, and a long story that I hope to write up fully some day. A short summary: I had The Similarities Engine up on the very early web for a couple o

Looks like it might still be struggling with the HN hug. I tried it, I gave it three easy topics to use, it understood them and tried to produce the web page, but it still says “Videos: 0” for all three groups. You can still get your fix in

I’d rate this comment a “10”, ha. Good stuff, I’m with you on that road. I especially like OP’s point #1. “I know I did x, sorry about that” is so much more powerful than “Sorry you let yourself get upset that I did x”.

How many breaths do I have to take, to pull in an oxygen atom that used to be part of a dinosaur, and was also in Caesar’s last breath? Could we turn this number into a unit of measure, so we can name it the…Caesaur? Caesarasaur?
