You might find this old children's book to be interesting reading, especially this section: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/24811/24811-h/24811-h.htm#Pag... Some of the text on Wikipedia is interesting as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik

Try it for a week and see. What do you have to lose? Alternatively, have some children and your sleep will not be the same for a long long time. Ryan Carson says he has a 1 year old child, so I doubt he's sleeping through the night. :)

Hipmunk doesn't seem to list AirAsia, Tiger Air, perhaps not Garuda. I figured the original comment here was stating that there are airlines that aren't listed. (Kayak lists AirAsia and Garuda at least though.) For one comparison that hurts

There's Boehm, MPS ( http://www.ravenbrook.com/project/mps/ ) Apple's AutoZone, and others. As mentioned above, I'm regularly talking with Ravenbrook about liberalizing the license on MPS and doing some work on modernizing it. I've hopes th

Have you or Mike Pall looked at the Memory Pool System from Ravenbrook: http://www.ravenbrook.com/project/mps/ ? This used to be the GC at Harlequin and is still used today in some commercial projects (and by OpenDylan on some platforms)

@blakehounshell (one of their editors) is very active on Twitter (and a great person to follow), so I passed the link to this along to him. A lot of the stuff being loaded seems to come from their commenting system.

Dylan does work in a similar way. One issue is that we don't go far enough yet, particularly with functions, so while you can specify a vector of integers, you can't (yet) specify a function that takes an integer parameter, just a function

Well, given that I've seen 7-15 minute build times for 180,000 lines of code in a popular JVM language ... what I wouldn't give for Go-like build / test iteration times in that language. I think there's some value in your list of things tha

We're actually working on replacing the HARP native backend with one based on LLVM. The HARP backend is currently x86 only and is what we use on Windows, Linux and FreeBSD. (But not OS X, there we use the C backend for both 32 and 64 bit.)

The thread support depends on the compiler backend. It works on 32 bit FreeBSD, Linux and Windows. The thread support in the C backend is broken, but it nearly fixed and will be in place for the next release, bringing the thread support to

We dug up the original Framemaker files from the 90s and have been converting them to be processed by Sphinx ( http://sphinx.pocoo.org/ ) into various formats. That should start to be included with the next release.

I should've thought of this earlier, but we have an entire book online (although it hasn't yet been converted to our new documentation / publishing format): http://opendylan.org/books/dpg/db_1.html

There are some examples here (since we didn't actually write the real 'About' page yet): http://opendylan.org/about/index.html I guess we'll be working on the website a lot in the next couple of days ...

Honestly, it isn't ready yet. We're catching up as we bring things back up to date after some years of being left to rest. We're also not there (yet) with libraries that people commonly expect in this day and age. We were hoping this would
