Not in gamedev (and not planning to change that), but this is excellent advice applicable to many other domains.

Super useful, thanks for posting! Finally some clarity on: Mistake 2: Including SDL2/SDL.h This is like a virus and it turns out I've been consistently 'fixing it' the wrong way..

Rather shamelessly in fact. They did copy the infinite video scroll from TikTok, among other things.

Ah, I didn't know about OPML. I like that it's readable and editable so you can make adjustments before importing. Thanks!

Ah, your approach makes a lot of sense. Me, I've put together a number of Twitter lists over the years, to serve as faux-newsfeeds. Well, it doesn't work very well and right now it leads more often to aggravation than discovery.

Very interesting. May I ask was what your approach is wrt the Mac GUI: are you going to use XCode's GUI builder or rather build a fully programmatic GUI (that is creating View Controllers, etc. by hand in Objective-C++ )? Have no dir

I haven't, it was on my list but I eventually ran out of time an patience. Definitely planning to try it out at some point as I keep on reading great things about it.

Indeed, + thank you. PS: Benelux-based reader here, I can see my country is not in the top-10 but that's about it, what they call "high-res" isn't!

What confused me in their wording is that they seem to imply that the problem is: b would be left uninitialized, rather than: a depends on uninitialized b. Your explanation, OTOH, is straightforward to read.

struct A { int a; int b; A() : b(1), a(b) { } }; . Here, the b field is used uninitialized because the order of member initializers in the member initializer list is irrelevant; what matters is the order of decl

FTPS yes, no SFTP in macOS 11.6 as far as I can tell. It's possible to add it though, as 3rd party apps can 'hook' this feature.

Walter, D has conditional compilation, versioning and CTFE without preprocessor so I guess that covers the 99% "sane" functionality. Where do you draw the line between that and the 1% abomination part, i.e. your thoughts on, say,
