Taking them out does that? That makes no sense. That sounds more like a bug or oversight than a dark pattern.

I don't understand these two sentences in the article: >Natural evaporation would rapidly lower the level of the enclosed Red Sea. The dam would also lower the Red Sea by about 2.1 meters per year (6.8 feet per year). "Also?&qu

You know you asked a good question when everyone is outraged at you but can't actually provide a cogent answer. "I'm tired of replying to this" lmao what kind of response is that

I have zero tolerance for crappy wireless stuff in general but my wireless Logitech mouse has worked flawlessly. I can't think of a reason to prefer a wired mouse over it.

Europeans are always going on about how their right wing is to the left of America's left wing (as if any American should care). So when I hear "soandso European is far-right!" then shouldn't I be forgiven for thinking,

I once received a postcard (as in, no envelope) with a picture of the product I bought, trying to bribe me for a 5-star review. The product itself was totally innocuous but I can imagine if that happened with something that was even slightl

I'm a native English speaker in the US and I've been spelling turmeric incorrectly for decades. When I noticed that first 'r' I questioned everything I thought I knew about the universe...

To everyone providing testimony such as "I don't use an external monitor and I'm fine" (or not), please mention whether you're using a laptop stand and/or separate keyboard/mouse.

I'm consoled by the fact that JK Rowling's game is getting great reviews and is already a best seller. I can't wait for the day when we stop paying attention to the men in dresses.

I never thought i'd meet the guy who actually likes web bloat, and on HN of all places. I thought you were just a legend, like Kayser Soeze.

People who keep tabs perpetually open are strange. I'd like to observe their browsing habits to find out they actually use the web. When i'm done with a website, I close the tab. I sometimes meet people who have 100+ tabs open and

I think you're describing the Ian Knot[1] or the Secure Ian Knot[2] I use the first for apron strings and draw strings, and the second for tying my shoes, and both knots are pretty much guaranteed to never come undone by themselves.

Far be it from me to shill for Amazon, but I find that I can't go without 2-day shipping. Ebay is fine I guess, but I'd lose my mind if I had to wait a week for something. That makes the $140/yr worth it to me.
