How does bidding for something like this work? Say I am an individual and I heard about the new .app domain coming online and I just wanted my own brianeatworld.app domain, but Google sets out to buy the entire space. Is my bid simply ignor

I agree with some of the other commenters that a hire sounds like the way to go. Unless something is lost in translation, such as the currency, 4-5K is plenty. If not a developer, then someone in sales, which can potentially be a commission

I made a switch to LibreOffice when my work machine switched to Ubuntu. As the post points out, switching for everything but Excel is feasible for most users. There is a bit of a learning curve, but some things actually seem to make more se

I have the opposite setup, I use a mechanical at work and an MS Natural 4000 at home. To be honest, I don't notice much of a difference in strain between the two and would even suggest that simply having two types may be beneficial. I

I am not very familiar with OSes and things at the kernel level, can anyone answer the question in the comments of the post? "How did you measure the time spent in each section (HW, kernel, app)? how did you get such granularity?"

IANAL, but would this just require someone incorporating or starting an LLC and then paying for the exit nodes in the name of that entity? Would that be sufficient protection?

I enjoyed "The Making of Prince of Persia" [1]. It is a journal and thus misses out on some of the dramatic storytelling the strong, contrasting personalities of Romero and Carmack provided Masters of Doom. However, I found it ver

I think it has to do with maximizing revenue, not necessarily by tricking drivers, but by using paid/free parking as a way to change driver incentives. One example would be Downtown Austin. There are streets that are closed down to all

As a tip to anyone who wants to give Clojure a try, be sure to grab something for your IDE to handle the brackets. For Sublime, I would recommend Paredit. Your sanity will thank you.

Did you find that work environment to have been positively affected by the owner's strict standards for IQ? I ask because I tend to agree with the OP. IQ tests assign points based on specific types of questions, which I'd argue ar

That sounds like a good policy, but I feel like it could be taken a step further by allowing for possession in a medical emergency. It seems like it would be helpful to medics to have a sample of whatever it is that the person has taken.
