Hollywood is a business just like any other business. While many movies have been made at microbudget levels, most movies are going to cost a studio at least a couple million. Sequals, movies based on other media formats, etc. offer a buil

I haven't seen it mentioned yet: Make sure whatever you deposit it into doesn't have a lockup provision. The last thing you would want is to need the cash only to have the bank tell you that you will pay a penalty for accessing it early.

The majority of software developers are employees of corporations. As such they typically receive only a small fraction of the economic benefit derived from the value they create. If I choose to work for myself, then usually I am acceptin

I went without television altogether for quite some time. I have since then experienced both cable and broadcast content. Frankly, I find both services lacking in quality content. The broadcasters seem content on offering mostly reality

Yeah, I read the article. Naked short selling would have nothing to do with this. The parent ruled out ETFs and substituted naked short selling for the cause. You could view my post as highly sarcastic. EDIT: Maybe I should clarify furt

Culprit of what? There's nothing wrong with the markets at the moment. They don't go straight up.

We have a huge number of people in this country who are unemployed. Why don't we just redirect the money we give them and their labor towards rebuilding the railroad infrastructure in this country? Seems like a perfectly acceptable use of

It's a suggestion. I'm fairly confident they would not get away with firing someone who did not give a high-five after walking through the box. That would never hold up in court. Some people overreact to rather benign issues.

Limit orders are not hidden at all. There's a 200 share bid sitting in the GE order book right now at 14.28 on Yahoo! Finance. There are six orders sitting in the BAC order book on Yahoo! Finance. If they are suppose to be hiding limit o

I never said there was no liquidity in the markets before HFT came along. I was making the argument that there is much more liquidity because of high-frequency trading. As a result of this much more liquidity, the markets are more efficie
