I think you're circling some valid points, but realistically I don't think this happens in the current climate. There's a couple of forces at play - a) it's a medical issue that people are really passionate about b) ther

Agreed, I personally believe no amount of jail time pays for the heinous crimes described above. The fact that they now get to enjoy a life heading an organization is infuriating to me compared to the life of trauma inflicted on the victim.

Absolutely agree. The ideas of 'publically accessible' files on S3 is so convoluted and the copy is not at all clear despite them adding all-caps in multiple places... And then policies are an attempt (I think) at simplifying perm

Speaking of hostile... Ironic to be telling people what they can do when you're unhappy about them doing the same! As for me, I'm absolutely upset. Older homeowners sit on housing with multiple unused bedrooms in major cities (and

No one is encouraging people to just 'walk into the country', where are you getting this from? It's illegal, they try to stop it, it's not perfect (never has been). If you cross the border illegaly, chances are you have

You could try to equate it with theft, but you'd make a poor argument. It's typical for licensing and other contracts to include provisions for minimums (in either direction, depending on who the bigger company is). Spotify isn&#x

Echoing the other response, this doesn't seem fair at all (and I don't even work in the space). I'd suggest you reflect on that opinion some more and think about why people work in defence.

Purely from an economics point of view, yes job hopping tends to net you larger pay raises and promotions. I think the flip side is that you won't build a reputation with 1 year stints at 10 companies. I currently work with a VP of pro

Puff piece you would expect from key stakeholders in this whole fiasco (conveniently timed, might I add). Respect where respect is due, but nothing in this post is worth a grain of salt in my opinion.

If you've invested time into adding metadata and app-specific markdown to your setup, you lose that when you move to another tool. Has happened to me before. It's about vendor lock-in when you go too deep into their ecosystem.

Physical products suffer the same fate. It makes no (capitalist) sense for a business to make a product that never needs to be replaced. In the US, it means we've seen brands like Levi's and L.L. Bean quality and guarantees declin
