The global economy is built on confidence which is derived from trust in financial institutions and whether governments act economically reasonably. It's not a matter of whether there's other banks that can take on the business. I

Chrome got to do it with Gmail/etc. when they were ramping up, so I don't see the issue with Edge doing it. Edge has another funny behavior where if you go to a Chrome extension page, it says you can install the extension. However

JP Morgan is the very definition of 'too big to fail'. Any actions against them to that degree would be self-sabotaging by any country. I'm not saying it's a good thing, but that's the reality right now.

StackEdit[0] pretty much perfected what I needed out of a markdown editor - I just need somewhere to write my tickets/docs that wasn't Github so that I could format it properly while writing. I still use it from time to time [0]:

Capitalism isn't a type of government. You seem to have missed the point. The ever expanding need for material wealth is what destroys. It doesn't matter by whom or to what ends or under what name.

Agreed. The only mandate for a corporation is growth and revenue. These goals are at odds with the good of people and our planet, as we've seen countless times. Corporations consume most of our resources, produce the most waste, and da

I don't know that this is always the case, or if it's a scale thing. I remember great, classic forum threads with 100+ pages that would get referenced, maintained, etc. It felt like being put on the same level as everyone else in

As a Rails person, I get a lot of those requests. It may be that after years of working on other technologies, you just aren't passing the filters anymore. When we were aggressively hiring Rails devs in 2021, we specifically searched f

These aren't massive communities, these big modders often know each other and work together. I'd say it depends on your background and availability. Most people in any of these intense tech scenes are a combination of a)young/

What about it? You're arguing a point I haven't made. I was merely saying the data set is valuable or they wouldn't have trained on it. GP was saying the data was worthless.

That's a cool source that contradicts the article posted originally. In yours they say they won't prosecute, but in the article it claims they were low-key threatened into getting rid of the garden. Odd.

Funny to see people quick to make fun of a project for not being able to instantly handle a spike in requests, which most of their own apps wouldn't either! Reddit has been around nearly 20 years to harden their infrastructure. Relax a
