That's a really interesting idea! The language for API validation could be a total programming language [0], something similar to Dhall [1] for configuration. [0]: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_functional_p

I wonder the same. I see the differences in protocols here and there but no fundamental things changed.

I think it's useful to put this into perspective, if you're designing a format for your backend and frontend you don't need semantic data. If you're one party providing API to others you don't need it too. But if th

I've read the new policy. Are they really disabling all server logs? Maybe that's just me but that seems a bit extreme.

I know that it exists but have never seen it in the wild. It's probably used by closed enterprises. If I was in charge there I'd use ejabberd, and Prosody if having less than 50 users.

Is there a reasonable alternative? I've worked with RDF and LD and can agree with most of your points but would like to see if there is something better on the horizon.

1. This is not a schema language. 2. Context is for shortcuts, all properties can be expanded to full names but these are qualified and long. 3. Benefit over what? RDF is for describing things with machine readable language.

Isn't this the purpose of multi stage builds? To have one stage for building it and another, from scratch, to run it?

With the caveat that it doesn't build the app inside container, so the multi stage build is kind of underutilized here.

This is really interesting. As far as I know there are only two servers that power the majority of public instances and both of them have weak type systems.

Sounds really cool. Does it support remoteStorage? [0] [0]: https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-dejong-remotestorage-09

Very cool! Could you also add viewport css so that it looks better on mobile Firefox? (it already looks nice)

I just tested it. It saves a draft each time I switch the screen but when I press Send only one email is delivered (the last one, as expected).

W.r.t. XMPP have you seen https://Conversations.im or https://dino.im ? I'm using the former daily and the experience is very good, it's a modern messanger. Hangouts is stuck in the past.

> Do you have a write-heavy workload? How do you handle contention? I'd also be interested in that. Last time I wanted to use Sqlite opening twice the same file for writing either would not succeed or could time out.

I think this stems from their internal monorepo culture, e.g. they care about building everything in one go, not in isolation. This can also explain the issues with golang dependencies, it's hard for them to see problems of most regula

I wonder what do you mean by "not useful"? They just have to participate in the reputation system, but that's an issue only when the certificate is young. Here's an excerpt from MSDN: > Detractors may claim that Smart

Yep, putty cac works very nice. The only downside I found compared to gpg agent is that cac does not forget PIN when the card is removed (gpg agent does that and I like it).

I agree! I'm frequently paying for software even if I won't use it after a year just to test how well it works. Unpaid is not sustainable. But having source code (Maybe GPL?) is also important.

Is there a public tracker for these requests? I'd be happy to be informed when OpenPGP support is available. Enigmail started to behave really weird since version 2 and your client looks incredible!

Yes, but it's always possible to block IP (targeted attack). Federated with a big amount of small servers make it hard to automate. You can block several hosts but the rest of the network would work fine. And because of how federation

In XMPP you cannot easily enumarete other servers s2s connections. If the censor connects as a client he can only see their own contacts. As for sharing IDs if you post them publicly then of course they are revealed and can be blocked.

Modern clients can connect via port 443. There is also support for XMPP via WebSockets, that looks like regular HTTPS traffic.

I think it may depend on how well distributed would a service be: having several big servers would not help but if every family and company had their own mini server, located in a non-censoring country then the censors would be unable to do
