So sad. Many people dying over there. I wish all citizens over there all the best.

That's assuming the CDMA and GSM versions come out around the same time.

I agree with you, but I don't think it's a big issue. What Sony is doing is stupid. If I can help stop that, awesome.

You bring up a great point. For this reason, I really hope Google makes improvements for his. It would be great to have a notification area on or right near the tab that alerts you to possible phishing attempts.

Interesting changes. Not gonna have a real opinion either way until I get to try it first hand, though. Maybe I'll move to the dev channel when the new UI hits there. Reading the article, though, I'm very interested with the way they're g

Reddit is interesting. There's a lot of crap there now and memes are way too frequent. However, there are still some great and high-quality subreddits. I've improved my browsing experience there by removing popular reddits like /r/pics,

10% is still a bit much, I guess. But it's pretty damn smart of Google. Apple announces 30%, everyone gets pissed. Google comes out and announces their plan and doesn't make a big deal about any of it. Everyone wants to know how much Go

The issue isn't just the 30% subscription fee. The problem is they won't let app developers charge any more than they would on their own site to make up for the fee. Also, they can't link outside the app anymore to where the developer wou

Really? Do you know of any companies that have admitted using Sketchup? Hadn't really heard anything at GDC the past few years (besides Google giving copies away at their booth).

I can't imagine being cut off from the Internet so badly. These things take time to spread fully, though. It's hard to force it when our networks are slower and more expensive than most other modern nations in the world.

Very sad if true...but I really wish people would leave the guy alone and give him some privacy. I know it's hard when he's such a big figure in the tech field, but the guy is dealing with life threatening health issues...

Headline makes it seem like they were meeting one on one. Not the case, but still interesting. Not sure what this really accomplishes besides PR for Obama, though. Will they actually get anything done?

Interesting. Could really take off. Seems like something Google would do (in terms of the website specific options) for Chrome.

This is the way to do it. Google gives more control to the content providers and in the end, the users still win and have more choices (accessing the content they paid for on any device). As time goes on, the contrast between Google and A

I would agree with you were it not for what they're doing now with this whole in-app transaction thing. They're forcing other services out. It wouldn't be a problem except they don't let companies adjust their prices to reflect the cut Appl

I never said it did. DRM is a problem no matter who provides it. But Apple definitely ties it much more into their devices than other companies. There's an iTunes app built into the iPhone that can't be removed unless you jailbreak. Goo

It's not so bad on Android. And Google is very good at Web Apps. Try viewing the web app versions of gmail and such on your phone. They're not as full featured as the dedicated apps, but they work damn well. The big thing is making them

Valid points. You're right. Maybe I went a bit overboard. But you can't deny that Apple is continuously trying to prevent people from using anything but their services and goods. I don't blame them for that. What I blame them for is pu

Techcrunch is pouring out anti-Apple articles today, huh? I mean, the criticism is legit, but does it still seem like a bit much? The last two articles could have been one single one...

I get what you mean, but it still locks you into Apple's devices. Also, Amazon is able to produce content without DRM. Mp3 format music, etc.

And people wonder why I hate the walled approach Apple takes. The article makes another great point about people not being able to leave iOS devices for a competitor because all their music, movies, apps, etc are in Apple's DRM format and w

Heh. The Patriot Act was the biggest in recent history. Remember how little debate there was when the entire Congress was afraid of looking weak after 9/11? You'd think some of them would go back and read the bill and have second thought
