Honestly I like seeing the fretboard patterns to identify funky triads or strange chord fingering patterns. It's especially useful for when you change tunings to something you've not used

I haven't used D standard, but it looks like regular EADGBD tuned a whole step down. So you could basically use that tuning on the site and just select the key a whole step below what you want, and it will align on your fretboard prope

Maybe try and contribute to an open source project? Find some bugs and create fixes, I'm sure it will look good on your resume and you'll be helping out the community at the same time :)
